Krakow Destination Engagement Photography
Grass is always greener on the other side, isn’t it ?
Every photographer always dreams of getting an opportunity of shooting abroad. Every one wants to do a destination engagement or wedding shoot in Italy and Spain for example. This sometimes makes us photographers forget how beautiful and picturesque our own homeland is. After shooting for years in London, where I have been living for almost 2 decades the perspective of shooting a Krakow destination engagement photography in my hometown made me buzzing. It made me rediscover this gem of a city with its rich history and beautiful renaissance architecture.
Every day we pass by city landmarks without looking at them twice, sometimes even once. We take certain views and images for granted. But when Kalai booked me to shoot her engagement photos in Krakow I sat down and looked at my city through a foreigner’s eyes. What would Kalai and Dennis , 2 Canadians traveling through Eastern Europe would found beautiful and interesting ? Arches and pillars of Sukiennice Market, its characteristic lamps, cobblestone streets, horse carriages? Yes, all the above.

Summer weather can be a little unpredictable with its storms. So what started as hot and sunny day ended up with rain, lightnings and thunderstorms. But challenges makes photography more fun and we managed to create some cool shots while taking shelter in a building’s gate.
I loved how thoughtful Kalai was about the engagement photo session outfits. They both looked grate and their clothes matched and complemented each other. But when I was told that they both will be wearing blue / navy outfits I couldn’t resist myself and took a liberty of composing a bouquet of pink peonies that I saw earlier at a local farmers market. Peonies are my favorite flowers and as the season for them started back home I couldn’t stop myself. I think they add this little punch to some of the photos :)
Kalai & Dennis you were truly wonderful. You did a great job opening up in front of me and showing me your true love. It is always so nice to witness to souls in love. You “made” the Krakow Destination Engagement Photography, the way it turned out, not me. I was merely and observer.
Beautiful photos of an awesome couple! You would never know that the weather didn’t co-operate, a good sign of an amazing photographer :)
These are lovely!! You guys both look great. So happy to see you tie the knot!
Slawa,
We cannot express how much we enjoyed our session with you in beautiful Krakow. The photos have turned out wonderful and we are so glad we were able to catch you in Poland for a session. You were just so friendly and thoughtful (with the flowers) and we enjoyed every minute of running around the city square with you. We will enjoy these photos for many years to come.
Thanks again,
Kalai
